Early bird

Talk about perfect timing! No sooner did we get the maternity pictures done than this baby decided he was done! And early. We weren’t expecting him for another 5 weeks. But he was ready, and he’s the boss. Well, as it turns out, they DID get the most laid back baby ever. He could sleep through any amount of my moving and changing and nudging and general messing with him. I had such a great time playing around at this session trying all the things most newborns just won’t put up with! If only every newborn session could go this smoothly…. A girl can dream, right?

Almost there

You may remember the D family from a few months ago. Back then mama was about 5 minutes pregnant and we ran out to do a family session to capture their life before a new baby turns it upside down! Well time flies (at least for me–I’m not the pregnant one!) and they’re back! This was a fun maternity/family session as part of their “watch the family grow” album we’re putting together. This is such a special time for them– the last few weeks before their family expands. I love this shot of Dad talking to Baby C. He’s just oozing pride and joy, isn’t he? Then there’s Mr. J. imparting his big brother words of wisdom. So cute! I know they’re counting down the days. And so am I. I am positively thrilled to be invited to be a part of Baby C’s entrance into this world. Stay tuned!

Oh Happy Baby

Is this little guy cute or what? Of course I think ALL of the kiddos I get to photograph are adorable, but they don’t always make it so easy on me! Little B is quite the ham and he just couldn’t get enough of me taking his picture! Add a beautiful location and fabulous light, and we have a winning combination! We actually finished this session in record time too. Little B was in desperate need of his morning nap so we called it quits and he was asleep on his mom’s shoulder before we made it off the beach. Even tired though, he was a happy baby. The main photo above was taken less than 2 minutes before the end of the session which means it was about 3 minutes before he was zonked out. Not bad!

Oh, almost forgot, the other really funny thing is that he loved INXS. Maybe he just loved Daddy singing to him, but that certainly had him going for a while! Hmm, a happy baby who’s a good sleeper and loves 80’s music to boot. Does it get any better than that???

Born on the Fourth of July… part II

So Baby K had the audacity to be born as I was packing my suitcases on the way out of town. The nerve of her! Of course I’m kidding, but I did tell her that she’d have to wait until I got back for the editing. It’ll be a nice surprise to see how much she’s changed in three weeks.

So, meet K, in her first few hours and as her big brothers welcome her to the family. I love that Q ran right up to her and showered her with kisses while J hung back and admired from afar. So typical and perfect! My apologies for making you wait so long– I know you can’t wait to see the rest!
