Guess who’s turning 3?

A had a super fun birthday party complete with superhero theme and bear making galore!

How’s that cake taste?

The Bear in a Box party (think Build a Bear) was a hit. The kids got to choose and make their own stuffed animal complete with custom designed party outfits. I’m saving those pictures for the viewing though.:)

Instead, I wanted to share some special family moments. Wrestling with dad, being sweet with mom.

And having lots of family fun!

Hope you had a wonderful birthday, A!

Back to basics

I thought I’d share some black and white pictures this week. It’s been a while, hasn’t it?

I bet many of you will recognize this cutie! L helps his mommy teach the popular mommy & me Alligator Steps classes.

I love this mommy-baby moment in b&w.

Don’t worry, I’ll have color at your viewing too! I’m just in a sentimental mood today. See you soon!

‘Tis the season

Not that season… PCS season. It’s coming. And soon. So many of my calls these days are from people who are leaving this summer and want family portraits from Okinawa before they go. Such is the case with the P family.

web_poel-56.jpg

Don’t they look like a fun group? I am seriously bummed that I’m just now meeting them as they’re on their way out. I know I tend to use the words “clients” and “friends” interchangably these days, but it’s because I keep meeting so many great people

web_poel-59.jpg

And this smallest one here… turns out she’s got the same name as my youngest! If you know me, you’ll know that it is not at all a common name and has a variety of spellings. Both of our girls have the same first and middle names spelled exactly the same way. The coincidence boggles my mind!

C homeschools her 3 kids so her me-time is seriously limited. Nevertheless, she confessed to me that she loves the motherhood gig and it’s the most rewarding thing she’s ever done. Such a great thing to say and I can certainly see she really means it.

Dad asked me halfway through the session how he was doing compared to other families. I have to say, it looks like you did a fabulous job!

web_poel-58.jpg

They’re just such a great group and I’m super excited that I’m going to get to work with them again in a few weeks. I’m really looking forward to it. Happy Easter!

The middle child

This is one of my new favorite pictures ever I think. Her expression is just priceless. I love it!

holly-5.jpg

And you can tell she just adores her big sister. All morning she was running after big sister, wanting to do whatever she did. It was super cute.

holly-1.jpg

But she’s also got a baby brother to look up to her. He’s not quite big enough to keep up with his big sisters yet, but just give him time!

holly-2.jpg

Aren’t they just adorable together?
