I love to photograph birthday parties. The kids are so excited to be king or queen for the day. And the party guests are just happy to get to eat cake!

It’s been a few days since the last blog post. We had some “technical difficulties” as well as some, um, real-life issues. On my way over to this newborn session, I was talking on the cell phone and YIKES, I got caught! I’m banned from driving on Kadena for thirty days. First offense. It took me a day or two to regroup and figure out the logistics, but I finally got in to do this newborn session.
Although I prefer the candid “let’s just see what happens” style, we did try for one baby-in-the-basket picture.
But she was not amused.
So mommy had to step in and comfort her. Now that’s more like it!
You can’t argue with a newborn. She didn’t want to sleep and pictures are supposed to show who a person REALLY is anyway, right? Well M is quite the precocious one week old. Here she is wide awake and practicing her baby pushups. Seven days. Wow.

Meet C… Isn’t she just adorable?
C just had her first birthday, so they thought it would be a perfect time to do a family portrait. I know how they felt now trying to narrow down their choices. When I sat down just now to choose which ones to share with you, it was impossible to pick my favorite picture of the whole family. I think it must be one of these three. What’s your vote?
And what session would be complete without a Daddy-daughter shot?
