Are you ready for the holidays?

I can’t believe it’s already November. Yesterday I was making Thanksgiving plans and this morning I was thinking about the menu. I’m going to have to start my online Christmas shopping soon to make sure I leave enough time for shipping and I’ve already accepted a New Years invite. Before I can blink, it’ll be 2011 when we’ll be out of Okinawa and off to our next adventure. I am suddenly feeling like I’m running out of time.

According to the calendar, it’s a little on the early side. But in my mind, Christmas is right around the corner and this little guy came a few weeks early to help usher in the holiday spirit!

A mind of her own

Alright alright, I can’t leave that last one up here by itself! This is the baby girl who had no intention of sleeping for me or curling up for those traditional newborn shots. I coaxed and coaxed but she had other plans. She wanted pictures of her beautiful eyes!

Eventually she gave in, for literally a second to give me this. And then the click of the shutter woke her up and it was all over….

Jason Swartz - Kimberly, I can’t thank you enough for taking these pictures of our little Angel. As you already know, I was deployed for her birth and I am still deployed. This is all part of a surprise Deb is doing for me. Your pictures have definitely helped me feel closer to my wife and daughter. I cannot express the warmth I feel looking at these pictures, knowing that I will soon be holding this beautiful angel in my arms some day. Thank you so very very much. You have made a father so very happy.

Oh, did this one get your attention? I’m not finished editing this newborn session yet, but I just couldn’t wait to share this one.

As soon as we took her diaper off, this little one decided it would be a great time to initiate her mama into the club! And boy did she ever! It’s not quite the shot we were originally setting up for, but since baby is boss we decided to turn mom’s back to the camera to avoid showing that the entire front of her shirt was now a mustardy-yellow color instead of it’s original white… The glamorous side of newborn photography!
